 “Sympathy for the peasants, hoeing millet in mid-day heat.” Many children have recited this ancient poem. Profound truth always lies in poems. Poetry recitation could help children accumulate Mandarin knowledge, cultivate moral character, and build more confidence and self-esteem for public speaking! By reading aloud and reciting, children can memorize one poem per week and retell it in Mandarin to parents. This will inspire children to enjoy Chinese classic poetry, appreciate the culture and love the language!

Teaching format: Learn Mandarin through poetry appreciation, reading in group/individually, acting, story retelling

Age Group: 5-7 years old

Class Time: 12:45 pm – 1:45 pm

Tuition Fee: $560/year, learning materials included

Registration Fee: $ 50/student, $80/family (with multiple students)

Early Bird Deadline: Jun 1st, every year. Registration fee waived for new student

Math can be as fun as a game and a story! The class is to spark children’s interest in math while they learn math concepts in Mandarin. The teacher will use many fun activities, such as games, stories, pictures, actions to help children understand the relationship between math and real world, learn basic math concepts like shape, comparison, permutation and combination, etc., further develop critical thinking and problem-solving skills.

Children love drawing! They see the world through their eyes, touch the world with their hands, and feel the world with their hearts. Our talented teacher will guide the class in Mandarin, inspire their imagination and encourage creativity. We tell and create stories; we ask and answer questions; we explore and discover possibilities. Let the creativity soar into the sky and describe your artistic world in Mandarin!

Registration Policy

  • Payment
    • Tuition and registration fees must be paid in full before the class starts.
    • Payment is accepted by cheque, Interac e-Transfer, cash and PayPal (3% service fee applies).
    • $25 administrative charge will apply to each NSF cheque.
    • A one-time, non-refundable registration fee of $50/student or $80/family applies to all new students.
  • Discount
    • Family discount: 10% off for each additional student from the same family.
    • Returning student discount: Please refer to details in the registration letter. Conditions apply.
    • Referral discount: $25 discount will apply to the referred family. $25 school credit will be rewarded to the referring family.
  • Cancellation/Refund/Credit
    • Cancellation must be requested in writing; telephone request will not be honored.
    • 2-weeks written notice is required for cancellation.
    • Refund will apply to the untaken lessons after cancellation. A $50 administration fee will be deducted from the refund. If saving refund as school credit, administration fee will be waived.
    • If a student will be absent for more than 3 consecutive classes, the missed classes can be saved as school credit only if a 2-weeks written notice is provided.
    • School credit is valid for 2 years and can be used for any programs within Toronto Mandarin School.
  • Trial Class/Midterm Registration
    • One-hour free trial class is available by request. New students are accepted during the school year if space is available. Tuition fee will be prorated.
  • Makeup Lesson
    • No free makeup lesson is provided, but weekly learning materials will be provided by request.
