This program is for teenagers with no experience speaking Mandarin. Students, in small groups of 5-8, will be guided by a teacher and encouraged to develop practical, conversational skills by discussing topics, relevant and interesting to Canadian teens. Weekend and evening classes and March Break/Summer Break programs are available.

Downtown: 890 Yonge St, Suite 603 (Bloor/Yonge)

Class Time:

North York Location:

  • Saturday morning class 10:00 am-12:00 pm
  • Saturday afternoon class 1:00 pm-3:00 pm

Downtown Location:

  • Sunday morning class 10:00 am-12:00 pm
  • Sunday afternoon class 2:00 pm-4:00 pm

Term Choice:

  • Fall: September – December
  • Winter: December – March
  • Spring: March – June

Class Size:

North York Location: 5-8 students

Downtown Location: 3-5 students

Tuition Fees:

North York Location: $970/year, including all learning materials

Downtown Location: $450/term, materials will be $50.00 per set

Registration fee: $50 per student, $80 per family (with multiple students)

Registration Policy

  • Payment
    • Tuition and registration fees must be paid in full before the class starts.
    • Payment is accepted by cheque, Interac e-Transfer, cash and PayPal (3% service fee applies).
    • $25 administrative charge will apply to each NSF cheque.
    • A one-time, non-refundable registration fee of $50/student or $80/family applies to all new students.
  • Discount
    • Family discount: 10% off for each additional student from the same family.
    • Returning student discount: Please refer to details in the registration letter. Conditions apply.
    • Referral discount: $25 discount will apply to the referred family. $25 school credit will be rewarded to the referring family.
  • Cancellation/Refund/Credit
    • Cancellation must be requested in writing; telephone request will not be honored.
    • 2-weeks written notice is required for cancellation.
    • Refund will apply to the untaken lessons after cancellation. A $50 administration fee will be deducted from the refund. If saving refund as school credit, administration fee will be waived.
    • If a student will be absent for more than 3 consecutive classes, the missed classes can be saved as school credit only if a 2-weeks written notice is provided.
    • School credit is valid for 2 years and can be used for any programs within Toronto Mandarin School.
  • Trial Class/Midterm Registration
    • One-hour free trial class is available by request. New students are accepted during the school year if space is available. Tuition fee will be prorated.
  • Makeup Lesson
    • No free makeup lesson is provided, but weekly learning materials will be provided by request.
