Families will be able to meet and talk to parents of current students and see the Mandarin projects that were completed by our students.

Register a Free Trial Class at Our Annual Open House Before May 2

We are going to hold two open houses on Saturday, May 4th and May 11th, 2019 at our weekend school @ 211 Steeles East. It is a great opportunity to visit the school, learn more about the school/programs and have a try-out of our classes.

All participants will be asked to pre-register for the open house. Our program manager will be onsite answering your questions and assisting you for a school tour. You may schedule a free placement assessment and a demo class.

Our annual school-wide student work will be on display for both days. Parents and visitors will be impressed how much our students have accomplished.

Special offer is available for families who would like to register onsite and free gifts will be handed out to all participants at the open house.

Celebrating the Lunar New Year, the Year of the Pig!

The Year of the Pig came on February 5, 2019. All divisions of Toronto Mandarin School, including weekend school, adult training center and JINGBAO Bilingual Children’s Centre held various events to celebrate the new year with students, families and friends.

Children at all JINGBAO sites were dressed up in holiday best and invited family to join them for the celebration. Activities included traditional Chinese arts and crafts, songs, music and dances.

Our adult students threw a big party on Friday, January 26, making our own dumplings, playing traditional Chinese game Mahjong, and writing Chinese calligraphy.

The annual Spring Festival Carnival (庙会/Temple Fair) at the weekend school was the highlight of the grand celebration. The event was held on Saturday, February 2 and attracted over thousands of people this year. Staff, students, parents and guests were all dressed in traditional clothing and made a great festive scene. Over twenty market stands were set up and festively decorated to showcase the traditions of the new year. Children and families played fun interactive games, made traditional art & crafts, bought new year decorations, tasted home-made Chinese food and learned how to do Chinese calligraphy and paper-cutting. Students and teachers also performed songs, dance, drama and poetry. The God of Fortune and Three Little Pigs were the celebrities of day, greeting people with good wishes and handing out red envelops to the crowd. The traditional lion dance put a perfect end of the celebration, symbolizing good fortune a prosperity of the new year.

Yangshuo, a picturesque town in Southern China, is an internationally acclaimed tourist destination, characterized by crystal clear rivers, limestone crags, lush vegetation, traditional Chinese architecture and customs. Collaborating with Omeida Chinese Academy, we are organizing another camp trip to Yangshuo this July. Shanghai, the largest city in China, is a modern city full of distinctions and attractions, with millions of people coming for tourism each year. Collaborating with Mandarin Morning Shanghai, we are organizing an immersion summer camp in Shanghai this July. The 15-day program includes customized Mandarin classes, interaction with local people, authentic Chinese cultural experience, enjoy local food and many beautiful places to explore. 2019 March Break camp in registration now! Save more before early bird deadline, February 5, 2019.

With five convenient locations in GTA, our March Break camp is aiming to provide young children with a good introduction to Mandarin language and Chinese culture. This one-week theme-based camp is packed with fun, energy and creativity, all of which will inspire your child’s interest in learning Mandarin. Two-weeks program is available at some sites, and please check with the site supervisor for space availability.

Thank you for considering the Seamless Mandarin International Language Elementary (SMILE) program for your child. Toronto Mandarin School Open House held successfully in September

Toronto Mandarin School held open houses on Saturdays, Sept 15th / 22nd, 2018.

The open house started from 9:30 am, and finished around 4:30 pm. Over 60 students came for the visit with their families and shared a great time with our team. All participants joined our interesting Mandarin classes, from SK to Grade 9, Happy Mandarin and Standard Mandarin. They also took the Chinese language test, got to know our great teachers, visited our library and read the textbooks. Teachers explained in details about our courses’ information. Parents and visitors were very impressed by the courses design and teaching philosophy offered by TMS.  Many families got an exclusive discount in the day. They all expressed that it’s a great choice to study Mandarin in Toronto Mandarin School.

Training at Burgundy Asset Management – “We are Heading to China”

Burgundy Asset Management, a global investment manager providing discretionary investment management for private clients, foundations, endowments, pensions and family offices, started its Business Mandarin training on August 30th, 2018. The two senior managers who works for emerging market sectors, participated in the language training which is led by our experienced instructor Ms. Lauren Liu.
